At the heart of Greater Fort Lauderdale is the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, a 22-block neighborhood with multiple stunning event spaces and the many theaters and auditoriums that make up the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
When the Museum of Discovery & Science closes to the public each evening, it becomes one of the most unique venues in Greater Fort Lauderdale. The museum’s Keller Science Theater can seat up to 100 and can support both live presentations and film presentations, while the Lifelong Learning Center has four spaces that can function as either classrooms or labs and host day trips or even overnight camp-ins. The event planning staff at the museum is experienced at offering unique theater experiences geared toward the museum’s permanent collection and traveling exhibits.
The campus of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts offers a variety of settings, some immediately adjacent to the Riverwalk District and others conveniently located throughout Greater Fort Lauderdale. The jewel in the crown of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts is the Au-Rene Theater with 5,455 seats, whose beautiful Horvitz Lobby offers more than 5,000 square feet of banquet space as well as rich nautical décor, a signature bar, 45-foot-high ceilings, and stunning views of the New River. Other gems include the Parker Playhouse with 1,191 seats, the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center with 500 seats, and the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center with 330 seats.
Just a few miles from the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center is one of the most dynamic event spaces in Greater Fort Lauderdale. Housing a 300-seat theater, it also contains a library with more than 85,000 documents and artifacts, a 60,000-square-foot museum, and seminar rooms, making it an ideal location for workshops, fairs, and conferences.
For modern and highly modular event spaces, Greater Fort Lauderdale offers two excellent options: Amerant Bank Arena and Hard Rock Live.
Home to the NHL’s Florida Panthers and regularly hosting concerts from top performers, Amerant Bank Arena also features more than 50 meeting rooms, 12 function areas for parties and receptions, and nearly unlimited parking, making it an easy choice for conferences and large-scale gatherings. On nights when performers or the Panthers are in town, Amerant Bank Arena's 70 luxury suites offer unparalleled amenities such as wet bars, closed circuit monitors, and leather upholstery to host your corporate outings.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s newly renovated 3,500-seat Hard Rock Live is the ideal setting for conference keynotes and headline events, and, with a 38,000-square-foot exhibit hall and more than 120,000 square feet of modular floor space that can offer 32 different room configurations, it’s perfect for hosting both breakout sessions and exhibitor displays. Conveniently adjacent to the hotel and casino’s nightlife and amenities, the event center is capable of providing private dining for large groups and has additional spaces, such as a 7,000-square-foot poolside area, available to host social gatherings.
