West Park

Playful City USA: close to all the fun

For visitors drawn to Greater Fort Lauderdale’s beautiful beaches and Sawgrass Mill’s world-class shopping, West Park is close to it all. This family-friendly city is bordered by Miami-Dade County to the south, Pembroke Park to the east, Hollywood to the north and Miramar to the west. It’s a quick drive to the beach, as well as the area’s best attractions and adventures.

Three parks: no waiting

Blue skies, golden sunshine and green space is a winning combo for a family reunion, birthday celebration or other gathering. Bring your group to Mary Saunders Park: there are rentable spaces, picnic tables and basketball courts. Larger McTyre Park and Lake Forest Community Center are located in nearby Pembroke Park. You also have easy access to bigger state parks with even more amenities in nearby Hollywood and Miramar

Visit one of “America’s Best Beach Boardwalks”

Head to nearby Hollywood beach and stroll or bike the Broadwalk – a 2.2 mile picturesque paved walkway alongside one of the most pristine and well-kept stretches of beach in the area. Voted one of America’s best boardwalks by Travel + Leisure magazine.

When the sun goes down

There’s no need to trek to Miami for great nightlife: you’re a few minutes away from the action in downtown Hollywood, teeming with live music on any given evening. If you’re looking for a stage set versus a small venue, check out the ArtsPark Amphitheater, Hollywood Beach Theatre or the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for big-name acts.

Feed your heart and mind

Head west to immerse yourself in inspiring art, nature, culture and theatrical talent at Miramar Cultural Center and Artspark. The spacious campus includes an art gallery, botanical garden, beautiful 800-seat theater, shops, main library, restaurants, fitness center, dance studio and group hosting capabilities that include full-service kitchen and banquet facilities.

The theater books impressive talent from around the world: ticket prices are quite reasonable and you’ll enjoy great views from every seat!

Then feed your belly

West Park offers several local joints: all satisfy your appetite with mouthwatering fare,  good value and a heaping side-helping of local character.

At Chef Tally World Famous Jerk, there’s no table service. Heck, there aren’t even tables. But if you’re hankering for incredibly tender, fall-off-the-bone jerk BBQ, this is no-frills open-flame, island flavor at its best. You’ll smell those gigantic drum-shaped smokers long before you see them.

Nourish your body inside and out at Treelion, a juice bar and vegan restaurant. Choose from their large menu of breakfast and lunch specials, then browse their line of skin and hair care products, including soaps and styling oils.

You don’t go to Ruby's Corner for ambiance. You go for the food: like fried chicken with ox-tail gravy and the Friday-only conch soup.

So convenient

From West Park, you’re less than 20 minutes to either region’s airports and seaports and near all the top attractions throughout Greater Fort Lauderdale.
