Connect with fellow science lovers at the inaugural Visit Lauderdale Science Festival, powered by the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS). This two-day event celebrates science, showcasing technological innovations and opening minds to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers in the region. Plus, attendees of all ages and abilities can count on interactive events, engaging exhibits, environmental films and exciting demonstrations.
The Visit Lauderdale Science Festival features plenty of experiences that make science interactive, accessible and fun. Bringing together kids, adults, educators and innovators, this unique event is a true celebration of STEM in South Florida.
Friday, March 3: 26th Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration

Saturday, March 4: FREE Indoor & Outdoor Science Expo
Museum of Discovery and Science & Esplanade Park
Enjoy countless dynamic demonstrations, mind-blowing presentations, hands-on activities and engaging experiments throughout the day! Headlined by Spheres Bubble Show and the King of Random, this full day of fun includes coding for early learners with DUPLO and Storybook Steam, live touch tanks, perpetual motion machines, liquid nitrogen snowballs, the Ultimate KaBoom Show (with awe-inspiring exploding matter) and more.
Saturday, March 4: FREE Film Festival
Museum of Discovery and Science, AutoNation IMAX Theater
In partnership with the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF), attendees can enjoy engaging environmental documentary films inside MODS’ AutoNation IMAX Theater.
Saturday, March 4: Build a Better World Challenge, Sponsored by R-Squared Charitable Fund
Students (ages 12-18) are invited to showcase their unique inventions, with finalists presenting them before a Shark Tank-style panel. Inventions will be judged by South Florida business leaders based on creativity, innovation and real-world relevance. The winning design will receive a $5,000 grand prize to fund their project.
