Visit Lauderdale’s Trade Engagement Platform Provides Interactive Training & Sales Experience for

Travel Advisors

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (November 2, 2022) Visit Lauderdale, the official destination marketing organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale in South Florida, has been recognized by Travel Weekly with a 2022 Silver Magellan Award for its Lauderdale Loyalist program. Visit Lauderdale won the category of Destination Marketing-Education Program for its dynamic trade engagement platform, supporting destination learning requirements for travel advisors and serving as an ongoing sales enhancement resource.

With entries from across the U.S. and the world, the Magellan Award recipients represent the best in the travel industry and salute the outstanding travel professionals behind it all. The Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing, and services in a broad range of industry segments including Hospitality, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Agents and Agencies, Tour Operators and Ground Transportation.

“Each year’s Magellan entries are an impressive display of innovation and creativity in the industry, and this year’s entries were particularly special. It’s a testament to the incredible work done over the last year, and a collective desire to not only meet today’s consumer expectations, but exceed them,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “We salute all those who entered and all those who won.”

The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead they are judged against a standard of excellence based on the long experience of Travel Weekly. To uphold this high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners, or may have no winners at all.

Travel advisors may register and begin the web-based program now at www.lauderdaleloyalist.com. or download the mobile apps from their App Store or Play Store.

The user journey begins with a series of interactive learning modules including an introduction to Greater Fort Lauderdale and its beaches and communities. Advisors are then introduced to central themes including nature, arts and culture, LGBT+ and the destination-wide spirit of inclusivity and acceptance due to the area’s highly diverse residents. Once the learning modules are completed, advisors progress to the Retain section, where content remains available to access at any time.

Lauderdale Loyalist provides an interactive, multi-modal experience to maximize engagement.
