With 180 restaurants across Greater Fort Lauderdale participating in Dine Out Lauderdale, it makes for plenty of opportunities in August and September to take advantage of savings and deals for special date nights, lunches and brunch.

But what about if you have little ones in tow? Countless restaurants are the perfect place for families to enjoy a meal out, from casual restaurants to outdoor dining options and venues that come with a show. Here are just a few of our suggestions of family-friendly Dine Out Lauderdale deals this year:

Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant

This ice cream parlor and restaurant is a classic that visitors and residents of Greater Fort Lauderdale have been enjoying for generations, and families can indulge in a fun day out. For lunch, their Dine Out menu includes a choice of four appetizers, four lunch entrees, and two desserts for just $35. The deal runs Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. While you’re there, challenge the family to tackle the famous The Original Kitchen, which includes a pound of ice cream per person, endless toppings, and sparklers served in, you guessed it, a kitchen sink.

5 O'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill

Back to Top of List

5 O'clock Somewhere

Jimmy Buffett’s whimsical sun-soaked world comes to life at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Hollywood Beach, and the aptly named 5 O'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill is a play where the grownups can enjoy a drink while the little ones can enjoy the live music, tiki huts, fire pits, and the boats passing by on the Intracoastal. For $35, select your choice from three appetizers and entrees and two desserts. To add more fun to the day, arrive at the bar and restaurant by Water Taxi, and it also serves as a launch for paddleboards and kayaks.

Mia Oceanfront

Mia Oceanfront

This Hallandale Beach restaurant serves up not just delicious food but also stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. And even better for families? There’s a supervised playroom for little ones to run off that energy while waiting for their meals, or while their parents are enjoying dinner. That includes the $45 dinner special: choice of three appetizers, four dinner entrees, three desserts, and four dinner enhancements, or the $75 lux dinner allows guests to select from five appetizers, six entrees, three desserts, and two special offerings. Mia Oceanfront’s Dine Out menu is available Sunday through Thursday, except from Sept. 4-7.

MAI-KAI Restaurant

Back to Top of List

MAI-KAI

An institution in Oakland Park since 1956, MAI-KAI has been the go-to for dinner and a show. The $60 Dine Out menu gives diners the choice of three appetizers, four entrees, two desserts, and a beverage (Mai-Tai, beer, white or red white, soft drink, coffee, or tea). The special runs Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to close. For an additional fee, combine the dinner with a show, featuring dancers and musicians doing traditional dances from across Polynesia, including the hula, fire dancers, the Haka, and much more. The property is an adventure in itself, including a trail with waterfalls, sculptures, and plant life that will transport you to the islands.

B Ocean Wreck Bar Mermaid

For dinner and a show, Wreck Bar’s $60 dinner menu offers a choice of appetizers, entrées and desserts, with an additional $25 wine and cocktail pairing available. Portholes serve as underwater windows into the swimming pool at B Ocean Resort, where mermaid shows bring a little magic to the dining experience throughout the week. The Pre-Weekend Splash offers an underwater spectacle, while the Friday night Sirens of Glamour brings an adults-only mermaid performance to the iconic Fort Lauderdale venue.

Eddie & Vinny’s

This Coral Springs restaurant is all about family—it’s family-owned and named after the owners’ fathers, whose names were handed down to their own kids! For a nice dinner out with the whole gang, check out the $60 dine out dinner menu that includes a choice of four appetizers, four entrees, and three desserts. The regular menu also has a kids’ menu, if they’re in the mood for pasta or chicken tenders. Salut!
