Shopping

Whether you’re in search of a gift for a loved one or treating yourself to something new, there’s no shortage of shopping destinations throughout Greater Fort Lauderdale.

Perhaps the most iconic experience is Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, and with more than 350 stores, it’s no wonder it consistently ranks among the largest shopping malls in the country. The outlet mall provides shoppers with a place to get all their favorite things at a fraction of the price, from everyday retailers to luxury labels such as Balenciaga, David Yurman, Jimmy Choo, and Prada.

Another open-air shopping mall is the new Dania Pointe in Dania Beach, which has all your favorite brands. Think Anthropologie, American Eagle, Pandora, Tommy Bahama, Urban Outfitters and more. The whole family will enjoy a trip to Dania Pointe, thanks to the plethora of restaurants and entertainment such as a movie theater and bowling alley. For out of towners, the AC Hotel by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport is conveniently located within the sprawling mall. Other outdoor malls around Greater Fort Lauderdale include Promenade at Coconut Creek and The Shops at Pembroke Gardens.

If you want to kick it back to the heyday of mall madness, head to The Galleria in Fort Lauderdale and the Broward Mall in Plantation. No matter the weather, these indoor shopping venues allow you to window shop from big name brands, including anchor stores like Macy’s, Dillards and JC Penney.

If you’re looking for a local experience, Greater Fort Lauderdale has you covered, too. Las Olas Boulevard — Spanish for “the waves” — has been aptly called “style mile” for its tree-lined thoroughfares of restaurants, bars and boutiques. Think Tommy Bahama (which has an attached bar and restaurant), Yeti, Warby Parker, Lilly Pulitzer, Edward Beiner and art galleries.

Sistrink Marketplace & Brewery, which recently doubled in size, is the first food hall in Fort Lauderdale and sports not only restaurants, craft beer, and a distillery, but also the boutique SistrunKollective. Here, shoppers will find creations by local artisans, from jewelry and art to clothing and beauty goods.

Be sure to check the community calendar, too, for pop up shops and flea markets. Indie Craft Bazaar is hosted at Revolution Live and Backyard, one of the largest collection of crafters, artisans, vintage collectors and creators. They also host offshoot events like Dania After Dark and special holiday pop ups. Other popular flea markets include the Flamingo Flea at Tarpon River Brewing, Sunny Side Up Market at Pier 6 in Pompano Beach and Wine Garden in Fort Lauderdale, and Untapped Pompano in Pompano Beach.

No matter your style, taste and what you’re shopping for, there’s truly something for everyone under the sun in Greater Fort Lauderdale.
