With beautiful weather almost all year round, it’s no wonder brides and grooms turn to outdoor venues in Greater Fort Lauderdale for their big day. Whether you’re in search of a garden party, beach bash, or elegant soiree, you’ll find every type of wedding venue to suit your nuptials.

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens

The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens includes a sprawling garden teeming with orchids and hibiscus. The estate was a wedding gift to Hugh Taylor Birch’s daughter, Helen, and her husband, artist Frederic Clay Bartlett in 1919. When Helen died, Barlett remarried and his second wife, Evelyn Fortune Lilly, turned the winter home into the artist's haven it is today with their original paintings and sculptures. Couples can say “I do” at a number of spots on the property, including on the shores of a lily-pad strewn pond with the estate’s signature swan or the terra cotta fountain courtyard.

Stranahan House

Built in 1901, the two-story historic Stranahan House overlooks the New River, greeting yachts and riverboats motoring by. Named for Frank and Ivy Stranahan, the couple was one of the first white settlers in the city. Frank was the postmaster for the area—his post office on the property is a darling photo opp!—and Ivy served as the first beloved teacher in the area and to Seminole children. Guests can partake in a docent-led tour of the home during cocktail hour, or take in the view of the river on the newly installed dock.
